Location
RSy-PA works with Batere community in the territorial
district of Batere, in the province of Mai-Ndombe, territory of Kutu, in
Democratic Republic of Congo for the protection of pangolins (Manis gigantea) and the community
development. Our site located: 3°17’48.05’’ S and 18°39’07.42’’ E
Object
RSy-PA has as objective to assure the protection of
protected species and the development of the community.
Mission
RSY-PA has for mission to act for saving the
environment and the local developpement through the conservation of the
biological diversity and the participative management of natural resources.
She works to protect animal and vegetable species as
well as basic ecological stabilities.
She also acts for all facts like threatened, illegal
trade of wildlife species, destruction of forest and rivers and pollution which
will spoil the environment and his ecosystem.
Activities

Conservation
Through patrol men, the ngo assures the watch of holes
of giant pangolins of Africa and the inspection of forests for protecting
pangolin’s holes and avoiding hunters.
For this fact, RSy-PA initiates a project of creation
local community forests in need to involve the local community in the
management of her natural resources and to participate to actions of
conservation.

Public communication and strengthening
of capacities
The team of RSy-PA undertakes regularly to the
sensibilization of populations and to the plea nearby politico-administrative
authorities in need to establish laws and rulers.

Struggle against illegal and illicit
trade of pangolins and their products
A watch ring is installed in all places of embarkation
of products and merchandises (ports and parkings) in countries of the area of
the conservation to assure a full control and to denounce smugglers.
Our local teams of watch assure the control of sale of
wildlife meet to struggle against the trade of the fauna. They have for
mission, to identify, to categorize, and to take a sample of wildlife species
which are found in the market for domestic consumption or for the expedition to
big cities.
The installation of an interviewers ring in cities
(Kinshasa) is under way for fighting exporting smugglers and the the corruption
of officer in borders.
A plan of plea is under way of writing for identifying postmen of apathy in the application of the ruler.
Activities of development
Programmes are planned to open up the conservation
zone. ForFor
this, RSy-PA has put on :
- A programme
for the renovation of buildings in which is medical centers of the rural
medical zone of Bosobe.
- A programme
for the renovation of access roads for allowing peasants to evacuate farm
products.
- A programme
for fighting the poverty and struggling for dietary security which consist in
supervising the family farming.

RSy-PA searches for financings to:

Strengthen
abilities of her team of patrolmen through a very professional formation;

Take care of
patrolmen to maintain them in the action of conservation;

with materials for the watch of holes;

Look for other
holes;

Support
efforts of commitment of local and riverside populations of forests of
conservation;

Strengthen
activities of sensibilization through a tool of community communication for
broadcasting informations;

Prime the
process of creation local community forests (LCF);

Structure rings
of control and of exchange of informations.
The coordination is used to:
-
lead a plea to
politico-administrative authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo in
order to strengthen the application of laws and rulers ;

Lead a plea to
financial and technical partners and all other who take part to give a
national/ provincial/ local plan of urgency for saving pangolins;

Sensibilize
local security services (police, direction of migrations and information) in
order to obtain their collaboration involvement in the struggle against the
criminality of pangolins;

Structure
local committees of conservation in all riverside villages of forests who will
have as mission to assure the environmental education and to coordinate
activities of development
